CASTING
Characterisation & Casting are one of the most important & beautiful aspects of a movie. Having the movie based on Children’s lives & about them, it would have been pointless letting the stardom of glamorous artists steel the show & deviate from the core message and prime objective. The entire New Face of India film is featured by various child- artists from across the country & different parts of the world. Mr. Khatib chooses the cast ensuring that the situations projected in the film are breathing somewhere along the line and there are people who are still living in those roles. To act poor and be poor are two different scenarios and since all characters are from the world of poverty, characters would be displaying their emotions and expressions without much of acting skills in front of the camera. Artificiality will have no place in this movie.
MUSIC
Indian Music is towering high world-wide due to its rich heritage of melodies, rhythms, poetries, compositions, orchestra arrangements and underlying passion. It is acknowledged all around the world for its exclusivity & has earned its respect of being on the paramount dais. Hence, the lead music in the movie remains Indian fused with the essence of soft & hard rock & international musical notes.
CHALLENGES
Unlike the stereotypical movies in the existing times, New Face of India is being produced with a different outlook altogether. India is no less than a world in itself. With more than hundred and seventy languages in our country & thousands across the globe, it is a task to make a movie with a common lingo to reach the heart of every man in India & around the world, especially when it is about unity & peace. And Music is the best redeemer one can get. As a matter of fact, there is no single dialogue in the movie despite the fact that more than 1500 children have appeared on the screen in the film. The gigantic effort to zero down every emotion to be truly captured in the film and all characters expected to do so without a word spoken is not easy. The film takes you back to the charismatic milieu of 1940s & 50s where melodramatic situations were accentuated with a combination of musical notes, face expressions and vocal efforts. The entire movie is treated with the strong background musical.
Besides, the entire cast of the movie are none but kids from across the nation & no kid is above seven years of age. This definitely calls for gearing up with a lot of vigour & patience at the same time.
